Apple is doing everything it can to make their AirPods as handsfree as possible. The AirPods, their pricey, cordless earbuds, will likely be introducing Siri to its variety of upgrades.
In addition to a new chip that will allow for an enhanced connection reliability, the wireless headphones will allow users to use the “Hey Siri” commands to access their music. Requesting songs and skipping through playlists can be entirely hands-free.
Although the concept is nice, the feature is receiving some mixed thoughts. In theory, the feature would be great. However, for those who plan on using these headphones discretely or during exercise, they may find this to be a little inconvenient.
Additionally, after the complaints about Siri on the HomePod, there are a lot of people worried that Apple won’t be able to deliver. We will just have to see what Apple has in store for their headphones.
If nothing else, they are working on a third-generation model that will sport a wide variety of new features in addition to things like being completely waterproof. We won’t be able to see those hit the shelves until 2019. Until then, we will just have to see how Apple upgrades their current AirPods.
