Samsung is on track to release Samsung Bixby speakers in the early to mid-months of 2018. The Bixby speakers, AI-powered, have been designed to compete with leading AI speakers such as Amazon’s, Echo. The release of the speakers comes as a surprise since the company had reserved its ambitions to develop one.
As its name suggests, the speakers feature Bixby in its functionality. According to sources, the speakers will center on proving high-quality sound. The speakers are not only designed for you to enjoy music but also for you to be capable of controlling other home appliances like lights.
The speakers are also expected to be as compact as its competitors. They will be available in a range of colors including a well- polished matte black. Earlier, the speakers were expected to have a design integrating a touchscreen. However, the screen has been replaced with LED lights at the top to give users a visual feedback.
The Bixby speakers are still under improvement from the company as it intends to make the voice-based internet searches smooth. Moreover, the speakers can synchronize with other Samsung devices including the smart TVs. This is possible as it incorporates the smart home control. As is the case with Samsung’s smartphones, Bixby can carry out a sequence of commands.
The device is expected to retail at $200 (relatively cheaper than the anticipated HomePod) however, this may change over time before its official release. According to Harman’s (company recently acquired by Samsung) CEO, the speakers will have a much better ‘Bixby’ compared to other AI platforms offered by its competitors: Amazon and Google Assistant. The remarks were made as its functionality, as earlier mentioned, encompasses the entire Samsung ecosystem.
