Everyone that owns a smart speaker knows about those generic opening commands like “Hey, Alexa,” “Hey, Siri,” or “Hey, Google.” It seems that Alexa, the voice assistant behind Amazon smart devices, will be breaking away from these cliques soon.
In a world where technology is becoming an increasingly important part of our lives, people are getting more excited about ways we can make these devices even more convenient. While all smart speakers sport some amazing, hands-free capabilities, people want more.
As privileged as it may sound, having to announce that you are trying to engage with your smart speaker is becoming just a little too unnecessary at this point in time. People want to be able to just have a conversation with their smart speakers as organically as possible.
Amazon says that they will deliver and plan on bringing a feature which will allow Alexa to know when you are trying to talk with her. Amazon will constantly be listening and waiting on commands from you while simultaneously trying to filter out noise and only to act if she “is confident you are speaking to her.”
While this feature will probably have some bugs at first, it is certainly something people are excited about.
