Google Assistant has become an amazing voice assistant, but did you know it helped bring one cyclist cross country? The AI assistant used in several google devices to help control electric bike wheels.
A cyclist who wanted to attend the most recent CES decided to go in-style and use tech to get him across the country. The 10-day journey was spent cycling through freezing temperatures on an electric bike. This wasn’t just any electric bike though -it was a bike featuring the Electron Gen 2 Wheel.
Google Assistant will allow you to use voice controls to change its pushing power, check battery levels, and even track your journey.
This model was announced months ago and is currently only available for presale for a whopping $799. The incorporation of Google Assistant, however, was new news for CES and will only be available in beta for the product’s launch in February.
Now, obviously this was a dramatic publicity stunt funded by Google. This still doesn’t change the fact it was quite a demonstration. With Google clearly not limiting themselves to phones, speakers, and other traditional platforms, this really leaves you wondering what we can expect from the future.
