Google Assistant is going to be hitting the big screens in 2018. LG smart TVs manufactured this year will have the virtual assistant built right in!
LG has been making smart TVs for some time now. However, past models have been using webOS-based operating systems complete with their very own voice assistant. They decided to replace theirs with Google Assistant to upgrade their TVs to fit the “intelligence” branding.
This is good news for tech-savvy viewers who were hoping for a little more with their new smart TV. The previous LG voice assistant was a lot more limited in what it was able to do. Google assistant, being a full fledge AI, will let LG TVs to actually be AI TVs. It will allow for a lot more contextual tasks to be performed.
This is not the only exciting thing we can expect from LGs new line of smart TVs though. They are also introducing the Alpha 9 -a brand new image processor. They claim this will reduce noise and offer better color performance.
Although there is still a lot we don’t know about these brand new smart TVs, we are looking forward to what LG has to offer in 2018.
