Apple has recently addressed an open letter from major shareholders to do something about iPhone addiction. Apple’s popular smart devices have been a major hit -and unfortunately, many are claiming that their entertainment is doing some harm.
We have all heard people joke around about younger generations’ inability to look away from their iPhones for even a moment. Many people believe that we are not crossing the lines of entertainment and addiction.
Detailed reports have linked iPhone use to increased risk of depression and suicide, reduced social skills, and impaired concentration. Although Apple is not solely to blame, their devices can enable these detrimental activities for those who cannot control their behaviors.
Children and teens make up a huge chunk of Apple iPhone users. Claims over iPhones having addictive properties have reasonably struck some concern in parents everywhere.
Apple immediately responded to this open letter assuring users that they always keep children in mind. In order to combat potential addiction, Apple wants to offer parents more ways to keep control.
Apple has announced an update that will allow more parental controls to parents. Apple believes this is this step will help parents take control of their children’s activities and help limit the chances they could suffer from their iPhone use.
Although we aren’t exactly sure what these enhanced updates will be, we can hope that Apple’s decision will help make iPhone use safer.
