Apple is one of the leading companies of the modern world. Its technologies and products have becoming synonymous with cutting-edge and futuristic. Whether you love or hate Apple, no one can deny their fame and success.
Among their famous products -with everything ranging from their iPhones to their Macbooks, you may be surprised to know that there is not currently an Apple licensed speaker on the market. Although they do market their own headphones, they don’t have and special speaker designed to work with their products.
Just this last year, they did announce their very own smart speaker, the HomePod. This specially designed product will be directly right at Apple fans and will sport a perfect compatibility with their other products. With audio control and the virtual assistance provided by none other than the voice of Siri, there will be a lot of fun features to be looking forward to when the product hits the shelves December of this year.
Unfortunately for many people out there, this extraordinary product does have a rather hefty price tag. For those who are looking for something for the basics, the Apple HomePod may be a little too much. This doesn’t mean that you will have to break the bank to listen to your phone out loud.
Many Apple devices are compatible with third-party speakers. In fact, many famous brands such as Bose, Sonos, and Beats are available right on Apple’s website.
Although they are not technically Apple brand, they can easily hook up to any of your Apple devices to seamlessly stream music or broadcast calls. Many of them come with instructions tailored specifically towards Apple users, however the setup is relatively the same between all speakers.
Apple Speaker Audio Jack
Although this will not work for people with the newer versions of the iPhone due to its lack of audio jack, the older speakers that require a cord are still compatible with most modern devices. They are pretty simple:
- Turn on the Apple speaker.
- Plug the audio cord into the audio jack.
- Play and enjoy your music!
How to Connect Apple Speaker via Bluetooth
Connecting to Bluetooth speakers is a little more complicated, however, they allow you a cordless approach to music. There is a little more variety here so it is recommended that you check your Bluetooth speaker’s website in order to obtain more information on how to use the device.
- Turn on the speaker and begin the syncing process. Allow your Apple device to be “discoverable” by Bluetooth speaker by launching settings and turning on Bluetooth devices. Follow the instructions with your specific speaker to sync the device (often this involves holding down a button or flipping a switch).
- Once this is done -enjoy music! Don’t forget to stay within the range of your speaker!
Using AirPlay for Music
If you happen to have an Apple speaker or Apple TV device, you can actually use AirPlay to hook your phone up to the TV without having to deal with any of the syncing process! Remember this is also a great way for you to watch movies and videos from your phone!
- While your Apple TV or equivalent device is on, turn on your phone to the music you want to play.
- If there is an “airplay” icon in the application directly, tap it to load your media directly to the TV.
- If this is not available, you can always slide up on your phone and select the mirroring option.
You don’t have to shell out the money or wait for the HomePod to broadcast your music loud and proud! No matter how tech savvy you are or what kind of budget you are on -there is a speaker out there for you and your Apple device!
